Some days I just need to sit and focus on my body to help the painful muscles relax. Mediation can be a great way to keep pain at bay. The winter time is the hardest for me the cold air makes me tense up and thus causes tight muscles. I wanted to share this article about some other tips to help with pain.

I have a close friend who has this condition and he uses alternative treatments for his pain and the insurance companies will not pay for these treatments. They would rather pay for opioids than the treatments that work for him. Please listen and share this with others!
Roy Morock my friend and business partner is  at OSU in great pain. If he does not get the treatment he needs his muscle will seize up. He is a local business owner, very active in his church and helps people and his community. Now he needs our help! With spastic cerebral palsy, he sufferers great pain but chooses to do other treatments besides opioids for pain management and was making great strides. He was out of his wheelchair and starting to walk with therapy and then had to stop because the insurance company won't pay for physical therapy. They will pay for pain meds but not treatment to help him improve. Something has to change! Please come and see him and listen to his story! He needs to go to Dodd Hall hope you can help!

Unravel Again

I'm busy. I own my own business, take care of my family and work part time.  However, in the past 3 years, I noticed that the busier I was, the more pain I felt. Seriously. I was so busy taking care of the needs of those around me that I repeatedly ignored my pain and would go from one doctor to another to help my symptoms. They were managed for a bit and then I would stop taking care of me and the pain would come back even worse than before. Something needed to change. I was told in May I had to have a hysterectomy and the pain in my neck and shoulders after the recovery was unbearable. I knew I had to find some tools that would change my life.
My sports doc got me back into physical therapy and acupuncture they helped give me tools to help get me on track. I had done it before but this time was different. I knew if I didn't do something every day It would all unravel again. I walk 3 miles a day, I do yoga, go to a massage therapists, I see my acupuncture doc once a month and swim as well. I am not a made of money so I had to make choices. I would rather spend my extra money on real food, a safe place to exercise and therapy classes than nice cloths and expensive trinkets .
Being happy and pain free is better than any vacation or nice car could ever be.

Neck pain can be caused by many things. But let's talk about posture.
Many of us sit in front of computers daily, I know I do about 12 hours a day. The way we sit is critical for maintaining pain. The Muscles in your neck attach to the shoulders which attach to the back and so on. Picture from Click here
